i shall make a dedication to all the band members, senior and junior, following loretta's style. oops. hahaha(:

first week of jan 2005, we were supposed to choose ccas. me and jason walked around, and wanted to put npcc. we even barged in the npcc room to ask about the cca. but in the end, i chose band, and he chose ncc. til this day im damn sure that mr tan misheard me as i said "my dad was a musician" not "i was a musician". LOL. i got no music background at all, but ahwell, he threw me into main band with eugene jacob and christopher. i was rather distressed as i was totally new to saxophone. but miraculous i managed to pull off the stunt of learning to play the sax and the competition scores in 3 months. that would add up to roughly about 24 practices in total. heh. i remembered the wild times the four of us had, spraying water, shoving each other, and the stupid games we played. 13years old was fun, especially when there's ppl like the eugene jacob and chris. in april we got a sliver for syf, and then the "four musketeers" were joking that it is us who helped the band clinch a sliver. HAHA. i watched as sherri and sixuan joined us and start to learn alto and bassoon respectively. i remembered sixuan rather suffered under zoe. me and eugene were coached like hell by yiyang, whose funny face never failed to make us laugh. sherri was the silent one, quietly learning the basics. sinyi and guiyu was sec2 then, and i remembered guiyu's bdae party. FLOUR! haha that was my first flour showdown.

early in sec2 i was put in bari, and hell do i remember how i HATED bari. i thought, what a waste of my talent! whole day play long and fat notes. boring. sixuan thrived without zoe (i sound as if zoe was very evil haha) and she always never fail to bring a smile to my face. i got closer with eugene sherri and sinyi, and i still remember the stupid antics i used to do in front of shimin. zzz. sec2 was filled with drama, which eventually led to the 1year plus relationship with a certain oboeist. symphonie II was crap (for me la) cau i had to play percussion instead. my bari spoiled, and i never dared to put the bari on the stand again. this was also the time where darryl weichen junhao hanchiang daniel wenlong lingchao came in. me and daniel got to know each other early in the year cau we both live in woodlands. ahh, the times.. and at the end of the year, sinyi and joseph got elected as band leaders. and preparation for syf starts.

i decided to start anew in sec3 for my studies, and i, er, owned everyone else in 3grace in terms of marks. except for julia and company la. sunrise&safari and escape into the light, the syf pieces which got us bronze. which is rather undeserved.. all the months and efforts, gone like that. i did break down, that time, because the long times blowing my heart out was like, gone. well.. life goes on. me and eugene got elected as band leaders. it was rather hard, at first. eugene fulfilled his potential as his sound became excellent, and i learnt the intricacies of leadership, which is not just about shouting and giving orders. i couldnt really handle it as the exco tried but failed to make farewell function '07 a success. it was nco camp man! and speaking of nco camp, i got to know all the drum majors from other schools. adelin melissa gina qianyu yujian gilbert all came in at this time. i remembered the times when i scolded adelin because she is slacking soooo much. saxophone section, under her influence, is really.. haiyo. nothing to say. haha.

finally this year, when the exco really bonded during the planning of sec1 orientation. it was a huge success, the juniors simply loved it. got to know yuhyan more, and i think i did rather decently well as band pres. the new sec1s are.. unlike the previous batches of sec1s i knew. haha. i watched as the trumpet trio of darryl weichen and hanchiang practise and improve on the trumpet, leading the trumpet section to become one of the strongest section, at times. i watched as lingchao became an even better french horn player than his seniors. i watched as daniel took on the the role of a solo tubist in his stride, and i watched as junhao became mr tan number 2. the style exactly the same.. when the sec4s leave, it will be the brasses' show next year. definitely. my own juniors, adelin melissa gina khidhir, though not outstanding, but you all are quite good. you all have potential. practise hard for next year, okay? now dont care who will become section leader first, care about your playing first, ya? the sec3s, consisting mostly the brasses. like i said, next year, its your show. syf. achieve what us the sec4s had always dreamed of. daniel i know you'll say its bull, but no, gold is possible as long as you all believe in yourself. if you all keep thinking its impossible, then it'll be impossible. it always work this way. sec3 woodwinds dont think i forgot you all. sharon rayner wenlong julia. you all must really buck up, really train hard. wenlong dont so kuku already. HAHA. rayner stop telling cold jokes. buck up, and get that gold.

and sec4s.. thank you for your hard work for this concert. we had a blast(:

i wanted this to be a photo with all the sec3s, but this will do. haha.

tenors!

SAXOPHONE SECTION 2008.
will miss you ppl(:

EXCO 2008. this would be the last time we're in charge of band already, eh.

SEC FOURS. finally, we graduated. haha(:

got abit sentimental after the main band item. nostalgic, to be more accurate.
haha. then it was the alumni band. we broke down alot of times.. lack of practice. but ppl say we sounded better than main band. o.O

its over, finally.
